Let me tell you a little story about this beret: I originally bought this beret back in January, and wore it religiously to work for about two weeks (it helped shield my ears from the harsh winter gales, ha). However one day, I got on an incredibly packed tube and taken it off because it was so warm in the carriage. I thought I put it in my coat pocket – little did I know that the tube was so full that I had actually dropped it without realising… never to be seen again!
That night, I opened up Asos to buy a new version of my wardrobe staple, only to find it was sold out. Sad (and with v. cold ears), I added it to my saved items, check back repeatedly over the course of weeks to see if it had been restocked. Nothing. Nothing for months in fact, until I last check back on Asos in a couple of weeks ago to find that just one was back in stock! Happy ending – and moral of the story, if something is out of stock, don’t give up! Keep checking back, as returns and new shipments can mean that you get another chance to nab your dream piece!

Speaking of Asos, I also nabbed this super-cute wrap top on there recently. It’s an awesome evening top and looks killer with a lace midi skirt, but I was dying to get more milage out of it as it’s so pretty. After pondering more ways to wear it that were a bit more day-friendly, I ended up layering it over a super basic high neck crop top to make a cold-shoulder style effect. This is why basics are awesome – they’re perfect for building/layering on! They almost serve as the basis for a crafting system for upgrading your clothes, haha.
