Sparkle & Shine.

It’s getting towards the holiday season, so I’ve amped up my evening wear with an extra bit of sparkle. Recently Dorothy Perkins approached me to style up some of their partywear for their  ‘Let It Shine’ campaign, and upon seeing these gorgeous embellished pieces, I jumped at the chance!

I went for a bit more of a ‘Grown Up’ Holiday look – more of an outfit for a fancy work do or pre-Christmas family meal (because Christmas day is made for slobbing around in cosy Christmas jumpers). I love how the embellished sections of both pieces match and create more of a dress effect when wearing them together. I paired them with a western belt and velvet cardi to take away from the dressy element slightly, but then you can add a faux fur to dress it back up again! To finish things off, I added some sky-high mary janes – because if you can’t wear super tall heels for the party season, when can you?!

I also tried to do something a bit new with my hair, so went for a simple braided up-do (easing myself into it as I’m pretty terrible at doing anything past adding a few waves into my hair when it’s down). I think I still need a little practice at getting the perfect balance between ‘done’ and messy – I’d love to get it a bit more messy, but as I only have long layers in my hair there aren’t any bits I can pull out. Does anyone have any tips for a perfect messy up-do?

Love!xxx
